If you’ve been here a while, you know I have plenty of I Spy printables. That’s because they’re simple, fun, and double as coloring pages. In this post, I’ve added a new birthday I Spy printable, perfect for younger kids. It’s an easy activity that also helps with counting, focus, and fine motor skills—all while they have fun!
How to Play the I Spy Activity
To play the I Spy activity is simple.
- Find the items listed at the bottom of the page. In this case, the items are birthday-themed. You’ll look for balloons, a birthday cake, party hats, presents, and more.
- When you spot an item, count how many times it appears on the page.
- Write the number in the blank space right next to it.
- Keep going until you’ve found everything on the list.
Tip: You can also color the items as you find them. For example, if you’re looking for all the birthday cakes, color each one when you spot them. Then, do the same for the other items. Doing that makes it easier to track how many you have found.
Supplies Needed for the I Spy

The supplies needed for the birthday I Spy printable are simple. All you need is the printable and a few optional items:
- The Birthday I Spy printable
- Optional dry-erase markers
- Optional dry-erase pocket sleeves are great if you do not have the option to laminate them and you would like to reuse the printable.
- Optional laminating machine
You can laminate this yourself at home, and if you do not have one, I’ve included a laminating machine, which is a good option. The best part of doing that is that you can reuse this printable multiple times, saving you money. If that is the case, make sure to have some dry-erase markers on hand.
If you decide to laminate this printable, you can hole punch it and add it to a binder with other fun printable activities.
