Looking for a way to keep kids busy on a long road trip? Well, take a look at this road trip scavenger hunt for kids. Traveling with kids can be challenging at times, especially on long trips. If there are any ways to keep them from going stir-crazy, I am all for it! This scavenger hunt is a fun and simple way to keep them entertained while they look for things on the road. It helps pass the time in a fun way. So, if you’re gearing up for a road trip, don’t forget to bring this along.

What is a Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is a game where people try to find certain items. In this case, you’ll be searching for things that can be found on a road trip. You are looking for a one-way sign, a moving train, a broken-down car, and more.

The goal is to find all the items on the list first or the fastest. I’ve kept this scavenger hunt simple; all you have to do is search for the list of items instead of having clue cards or rhyming clues. That makes it simple for the younger kids.

The best part is that everyone, not just kids, can play and have a blast searching for the items. It’s a perfect way to get everyone involved and have fun without losing your mind.

How to Play the Road Trip Scavenger Hunt

There are different ways to play the road trip scavenger hunt, so let me walk you through them. First, decide how you want to play—will everyone work together, or will the kids play on their own? If they’re in groups, pairing older kids with younger ones can help make things fair. Either way works—just go with what’s best for you guys.

Some scavenger hunts include a time limit, but for this one, there’s no need. Since you’re on the road, some things might take longer to find. Just mark them off as you go and see how many you can spot.
